Pickled Okra for World Debut of Zeelie Brown’s Quarantine Sonata
2020
Inspired by singing off balconies across the world during the covid-19 lockdown, I invited Zeelie Brown to play a concert in my South Philadelphia backyard. The event was supported by many and audible to all neighbors with abutting back patio spaces and decks. It was also live-streamed on fb.

Pickled okra
Cracklins with hot sauce
Sweet potato pone
Music lasted for about an hour.
All neighbors were invited to socially-distance physically while joining together
in shared audible space to appreciate beauty.
