Make for Good, Design for Love
Sometimes I team up with others to create visuals and objects to facilitate experiences.
Sometimes it’s their idea. Sometimes it’s mine. This page shares some projects from those archives.
Songs
My sweethearts were having trouble sleeping – the world was pressing too hard from the outside and thoughts were pressing too hard from the inside. I wrote this song in the hope that it might get stuck in their heads and lull them to sleep and to calm.
When I wrote it I didn’t know that infinity is its own can of worms for many folks. The idea of losing oneself in the endlessness of time and space, though relaxing for some (me), throws others into a panic. The second, more colorful, song is a rewrite of the first without infinity.
Using Food As A Force For Good
with the South Philly Food Co-op
These doorknob hangers create covid-safe opportunities for community members to connect around sustenance. The first is a playful invitation to our neighbors to share with the buyers of the South Philly Food Co-op what foods they feel our neighborhood is missing – thus also supporting other local businesses by supplementing what they don’t already sell.
The second doorknob hanger builds goodwill among neighbors by covid-safely offering to help get groceries for those who may be elderly or otherwise high risk for covid, at home with a new baby or little kids, essential workers, etc.

Cooking with Gath
I am at home with the hungry.
Cooking with Gath is where I store my favorite recipes so when I cook for you at your house I won’t have tote my cookbook collection. It’s the place you can go if you want the recipe for a tomato sauce purported to be 5% of the molecular make-up of several children I know. Or to know how to make my favorite pancakes (shown below in a rare, park pancake picnic appearance). It’s organized seasonally (see months recipes are posted) and, is mostly vegan (or vegan-friendly), and also has tips like how to sprout just about anything.
I take requests for posts. Past requests have included specific recipes as well as broader ones like: “recipes using small fishes” or “easiest recipes”. If you want to see something there, you just let me know.
A Field Guide to Unicorns
with Katrina Goldsaito
is a response to a request from a child. Above you’ll see a snapshot of the beginning of our tale. Want to see more?
A chance to cut…
I created the below zine in collaboration with Dr. Peter Fagenholz of Harvard University’s Medical Residency program at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Fagenholz was spending too much time writing the same six instructions on white boards before surgeries. He hopes this zine and others like it will save him and his Residents precious time.
No matter how clear and helpful you find the instructions below, don’t try Inguinal Hernia Repair at home.
Kindness is Contagious
with Raúl the Third, Greg Cook, Jen Delos Reyes, Daniel Deluca, Tasha Doremus, Steve Dildarian, Samantha Fields, Laura Fortune, Merritt Johnson, Michelle Jones, Sebastien Leclercq, Kyoung-hoon Lee, Eli Mann, National Bitter Melon Council, Bradley Pitts, Matt Shanley, Karen Stein, and Clay A. Ward
is a collection of stickers created by a group of artists. Contagion looms large in our collective mind-space at the moment. May these stickers inspire kindness to spread wider and faster than coronavirus in a loud bar.
